Social Media Marketing Glendale : When you are trying to get your fans or visitors to share some kind of content, there are 3 different ways you can ask (or force) them to share:

  1. Soft Share – when people are reminded to share the content with their family and friends. While this is the least invasive way, only the “real” fans will opt to share.
  2. Direct Share – users are forced to share what they have stumbled upon in order to proceed (enter the contest, see the wall, get access to other content, etc)
  3. Incentivized share – Users must go out of their way to include or recruit their friends in order to complete the objective.

While all of these methods work, as a consumer, which of these do you think you would respond most positively to?

For Some Industries, Social Media Doesn’t Mean Anything!

Sure, having a lot of likes, followers, shares and retweets look good, and it is also an indication that people like your content and deem it worthy of sharing it with their friends. But, when nobody likes, shares or retweets your posts, does that really mean anything?

If your in the swimming pool industry, not really. Do you really think people want to share an article or blog post about “Fiberglass pool problems” ? Probably not. That doesn’t mean that article isn’t worth anything though. If that article is getting traffic, improving the performance of your website ranking and in some how or someway leading to happy customers, it is definitely worth more than a like or retweet. Not all content is share-worthy, but that doesn’t mean its worthless.

However, if you are an aspiring music artist and nobody likes, shares, or re-tweets your posts, you might want to start thinking of a new career.

Sure, most of them will get lost in the abyss of the internet, but one thing you can take away from this statistic is that people want to be heard. Why else would there be so many blogs made each month?

According to Technorati, there are 4 distinct categories which bloggers fall into:

  • 60% of them are hobbyists  - someone who blogs for fun.
  • 18% Professionals – someone who blogs for money either part time or full time.
  • 13% of them are entrepreneurs - someone who blogs for a company they own/created.
  • 8% Corporate – someone who blogs full time as part of their job.

5 Basic Things Internet Marketers Should Know About HTML

Images

Using images on your webpage is a always a great way to illustrate your point and grab attention to what you are writing about. What we do need to keep in mind is the size and quality of the image. A nicer quality image would have a bigger file size, and take longer to load.
Rule of Thumb:

  1. GIF = Good for quick loading but at only 256 colors, the quality is very limited.
  2. JPG = Great for using for displaying photos at a reasonable file size but not so great for displaying text.
  3. PNG = Good for pictures with transparency and colorful graphics but the file size can be too big for web use.

Links

It’s great to have links to different content but sometimes, we can forget to make a link “active” which can lead to a non-working link.

  • Good: <a href=www.milestoneseo.com/blog>MilestoneSEO Blog</a>
  • Bad: www.milestoneseo.com/blog

Here, the second example would not be clickable.

Paragraphs

Having huge blocks of text may make a reader feel like they are reading boring documents. You want to stay away from this by separating your text into paragraphs and using <p> tags.

Titles and Headings

You want the readers to know what they are reading about by the use of headings and titles. Imagine trying to read a book that doesn’t have a title. You don’t know if the book you are about to read is “Moby Dick” or “Cooking Recipes”.
<h1> is the tag referring to the main Heading of your webpage
<h2> sub heading of your webpage
<h3>,<h4>, etc are used for less important headings

Unordered Lists and Ordered Lists

Using lists is a great way to organize your points.
a.    Unordered Lists: Used for bullet points
b.    Ordered Lists: Used for numbered lists

Local Social Media Ad Spending To Hit 2.3 Billion In 2015

Locally focused advertising in social media is expected to grow at annual rate of 33% from $400 million in 2010 to $2.3 billion by 2015, according to a new forecast from BIA/Kelsey. That would make local advertising roughly a third of the total of $8.1 billion in U.S. social media ad revenue that the research firm projects in four years.

Social media spending is on the rise. Small businesses are trying to create a dialogue and connect with their customers on avenues which they use the most. Social advertising is going to increase 25% annaully from $2.1 billion to $7.7 billion in 2015.  spending on advertising, like promoted tweets is expected to grow from $50 million to $610 million which is about 50% every year. Small businesses will increase spending by $1 billion and use targeting features in advertising to optimize advertising efforts.

You can make the best Youtube or viral marketing video, but if nobody see’s it, whats the point? Don’t leave things up to chance and hope for the best. Employ these steps to make sure your Youtube video gets seen.

  1. Add highly searched key words in your title and description
  2. Make sure there is a call to action, hyperlink in description and use annotations in your video
  3. Upload your transcript to Youtube – instead of making youtube guess what your video is about, it will know by reading your transcript!
  4. Get/create backlinks for your video
  5. Promote the video via Facebook and other social networks – sometimes, you just have to ask!
